"Hello!
I'm Susan Giaruso, Lifeline Chaplaincy's LDV!"
Long-distance-volunteer!
I live in San Diego, California. What a marvelous experience it
has been for me to design and maintain this web site since 2001!
I was born with graphics dancing in my head and through this marvelous
invention called the World Wide Web; I've been able to use my
God-given talent! I thank my sister, Phyllis Barker, Lifeline's
former Director of Development, who introduced me to Barry Curtis,
former Director of Operations! I thank Barry for giving me this
opportunity to learn more about Lifeline Chaplaincy and all the
aspects of its ministry and trusting me to do the job!

I
am inspired by Lifeline's mission to serve those in need. You
have a staff equipped to lead! You have trained volunteers in
crisis ministry, skills to deal with those that are grief stricken,
and to give empathy and support to those that are hurting. And
my, we do have many that are hurting! You have financial support
from individuals, churches and corporations. You have developed
a close association, a common purpose with the Texas Medical Center
hospitals, the Dallas hospitals and their social workers. You
have a compassionate resource to openly display a loving heart
toward those in great need and help ease the burden of many!
I
feel drawn to Lifeline because . . . . I am a cancer survivor
of twelve years. I can identify with those of you that are hurting.
My life was threatened and yours might be also. That "C"
word is so scary! There is nothing more distressful than that
dreaded disease, surgery, chemotherapy, the losses it can bring,
the hurt and fear it carries, not only to the patient, but the
families and caregivers.
Lifeline
is a wonderful resouce for many and I'm thrilled to be a part
of their team.
