"Creating A Healing Community"
13-Session Intensive Weekend Workshop

The workshop, which serves as the basic training course for Lifeline Chaplaincy pastoral care volunteers, focuses on listening skills, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills. It is recommended for chaplains (lay and professional), ministers, church leaders, and others who provide spiritual support to the seriously ill, their families and caregivers. Application has been made to the Association of Professional Chaplains for 1.7 continuing chaplaincy education (CCE) credits for APC member chaplains.

The training consists of thirteen hours in a classroom setting (see the current schedule on the right). The ultimate goal of training is to help one develop skills that will allow him or her to effectively minister to others throughout his or her lifetime. For those who wish to minister in a hospital setting, an additional orientation workshop and 10 hours of visitation with an experienced Lifeline Chaplaincy volunteer is required.
